Manchester United on Wednesday welcomed to Old Trafford to all fans of the Red Devils well-known Villarreal. These two teams last met in the Europa League final last season, when regulation time ended 1-1 and it had to come down to a goalkeeper's shootout in the subsequent penalty kicks, in which the team from sunny Spain was more successful. This time Manchester United were grinding their teeth for revenge, which also worked out well. It was already looking like Villarreal would take a point with a 1-1 draw after goals from Alcacer and Telles at the other end. But Manchester United have a new weapon this season in the form of star Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who tipped the scales in the 5th minute of stoppage time to tip the scales in the home side's favour and the game ended 2-1, with Manchester notching their first win in this year's Champions League. Everton is not playing any cups this year and can prepare better tactically and physically for this match. Everton has again replaced their manager after 18 months and experienced Italian coach Ancelotti, who was called back to Real Madrid, has been replaced by English Premier League seasoned Rafael Benítez. Ancelotti's departure was a shock and a betrayal for many Everton fans. After all, just a few months ago he was promising to pull Everton up to the cup rungs where they rightfully belong historically, but the deed was done. Linked to Ancelotti's departure is the departure of one of Everton's best and most technical players - James Rodriguez. It was Ancelotti who brought him to Everton, but after his departure, we could read more and more about how unhappy Rodriguez was and his game performance matched that. Even though Rodriguez wasn't sold in the summer transfer window as requested, he finally got his transfer when he moved to Qatari side Al - Rayyan on September 22.
