The final match of the tenth round of Ligue 1 will be between Marseille and Lorient on Sunday evening. The home side would like to get back on the winning track, while the visitors will want to extend their unbeaten streak. 

Basic information, news and team form

Marseille was very active in the summer transfer market and entered the new season with ambitions of finishing in the top 3. The performance on the pitch confirmed this in the first few weeks, but around mid-September OM suddenly lost form. The 0-0 draw at Angers could be considered a minor hurdle, but the subsequent 2-3 home loss to Lens must have upset the fans considerably. Marseille could have picked themselves up in the Europa League match against Galatasaray, but they failed to capitalise on their home advantage and only took a point for the 0-0 draw. To make matters worse, Sampaoli's team also came up empty in the ninth round of the league at Lille, where they lost 0:2. 

Lorient have been one of the pleasant surprises of this season so far. Les Merlus were beaten only by Montpellier (1:3) in nine rounds and are on a run of six games without a loss. It includes several very valuable results: Lorient managed to beat Lille or Nice at home and brought a point from Lyon. The last competitive match before the national break also ended in a draw, with Pélissier's team sharing points with Clermont (1:1). 

 

Betdoin's view of the match 

Marseille may not be in ideal form going into the game, but Betdoin's algorithm still expects the home side to win. Sampaoli's team had time to recover during the break and should get the expected three points against Lorient. However, the system predicts that the visitors could make OM's life uncomfortable up front and play a goal-scoring game at the Velodrome. One of the selected value bets is therefore a bet on BTS, i.e. both teams will score. 

 

 

Absentees and estimated line-ups 

The home team will miss Cengiz Under, who was sent off in the last round against Lille. Sampaoli will not be able to use midfielder Gerson, who returned late from the national team meeting, and a big question mark hangs over Payet, who is battling an injury. Lorient will have to do without the suspended Lemoine, while injury problems plague Morel and Grbic.
