The ninth round of the Bundesliga offers an attractive duel between Bayern and Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon. There is no doubt about the favourite of the match, with Bayern cruising past one opponent after another this season.

Basic information, news and team form

If anyone expected that Bayern could be upset by a summer change of manager, the start of the season quickly proved them wrong. Julian Nagelsmann's team only drew at Gladbach in the first round, but then went on a winning streak that eventually stopped at number nine. During this period, Bayern managed to beat BVB 3-1 in the Super Cup, beat Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League and dismantled Bochum 7-0 in the Bundesliga. A month and a half long winning streak came to a sensational end in early October with a 1:2 loss against Frankfurt in Munich, but Bayern were not deterred and are once again destroying their opponents after the international break. Last weekend, Bayern won 5-1 at Leverkusen, and in Wednesday's Champions League match, they beat Benfica Lisbon 4-0. 

Hoffenheim made a great start to the season, winning 4-0 at Augsburg in the first round. However, a run of four games without a win followed, which quickly cooled the initial optimism. Hoffenheim didn't get another win until the sixth round, when they turned the match against Wolfsburg at home and triumphed 3-1. A week later, however, TSG lost to Stuttgart with the same result, so nobody at the club regretted the arrival of the international break. The two weeks off obviously did the team some good, as last weekend Hoffenheim dismantled Cologne 5-0 at home and notched their second home win in a row.

Bayern's offensive quality is staggering, so the visitors might be satisfied if they don't leave Munich with a thrashing. Hoffenheim will have to do without Bicakcic, Hubner, John and Baumgartner, while Pavel Kadeřábek may not be fit either.
