Leicester vs Arsenal: preview, free tip and statistics

29.10.2021 09:00

The tenth round of English football's top competition will open at 13:30 pm with a duel between teams with ambitions to finish on the cup podium. Home side Leicester will host visitors from North London.

Background information, news and team form

Despite a great start to the season, when they managed to win the English Super Cup against Manchester City and beat Wolves in the first game of the season, Leicester started to perform mediocre in the league in September and October. One factor may be the start of European competitions of which Leicester are playing the Europa League this year. In the Europa League, Leicester is currently third in the group table. It has been credited with a home draw against Napoli, a loss away to Legia Warsaw and finally last week's win against Spartak of the Week which ended 3-4 when the Foxes' new acquisition from Salzburg, Patson Daka scored 4 times. Fortunately, Brandon Rogers' team was able to build on their performance from the beginning of the season and in the last four games, the Foxes were able to overpower their opponents. For example, Leicester managed to beat the famous Manchester United with Cristiano Ronaldo with a final score of 4-2 or to advance to the next round of the EFL Cup. Brandon Rogers' team has a problem keeping a clean sheet this season, after all, in the last matches in all competitions they have failed to do so even once. Fortunately, the Foxes' forwards, led by the seasoned Vardy, have so far managed to replace the leaky defence and outshoot their opponents. Despite the poor start to the season, Arsenal can boast of ever-improving performances, unlike Leicester. Arsenal's injured players have gradually returned and the improved performances have not left them waiting for long. Arsenal climbed up to 10th in the table and, moreover, did not lose a single game all September. The best game played by the Gunners in September is certainly the North London derby, which they dominated 3-1 after goals from Aubameyang, Saka and Smith Rowe. In addition, Arsenal also managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the League Cup. Arsenal is not playing any European cups this year, and perhaps because of this, they have a gradual trend of improved results, with time for their players to regenerate for longer.

Betdoin's view of the match

Home side Leicester go into this match as odds-on favourites at 2.53. A draw is available at the bookmakers at odds of 3.46, and if you want to bet on visiting Arsenal, the odds on them to win are available at odds of 2.94. The goal line for this match is set at over 2.5. Our clever Betdoin algorithm has found value for this match mainly in the over bets. Both teams are overextending themselves with their attacking play and their defences are not among the best in the league. Another interesting option seems to be a no draw bet on Arsenal.

Absentees and estimated line-ups

Leicester may miss their best striker - Jamie Vardy after he had to make a forced substitution in the Brentford game, but the Foxes coach hopes that despite the rest when Vardy didn't play in the League Cup, he might be able to pull himself together. James Justin, Marc Albrighton and Wesley Fofana remain out. Wilfred Ndidi is still a take on the treatment room and his return is not expected until after the national break. Arsenal will miss Kieran Tierney due to ankle problems. A question mark hangs over a trio of players: Pablo Mari, Ben White and Martin Odegaard due to a virus.

Leicester - estimated line-up:

Schmeichel - Amartey, Soyuncu, Evans - Pereira, Soumare, Tielemans, Castagne - Maddison - Vardy, Iheanacho

Arsenal - estiamted line-up:

Ramsdale - Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney - Saka, Partey, Lokonga, Smith Rowe - Aubameyang, Lacazette
