The schedule of the 14th round of Ligue 1 will close on Sunday evening with the prestigious Olympico, i.e. the clash between Lyon and Marseille. Neither team is in ideal form, so there will be important points to play for. 

Basic information, news and team form

Even under the new manager Peter Bosz, Lyon have been plagued by the usual problem in recent seasons: inconsistency of results. Just when it looks like OL is finally getting going and a run of wins is on the cards, an unexpected setback comes. In October, for example, Les Gones failed to make it through the derby on the pitch of a struggling Saint-Étienne, where they lost the win in stoppage time, or the match at Nice, where they still led 2-0 with 10 minutes to go, only to lose 2:3. However, Lyon's worst result of the season so far came in their last game before the national break: they were absolutely thrashed at Rennes and deservedly lost 1:4. So there is a lot to make up against Marseille. 

The other famous Olympique is not having an ideal part of the season either. Unlike Lyon, Marseille don’t lose much, but instead of wins, they only collect draws. In the last 6 competitive matches, there have been 5 of them, the only three-point gain came at the end of October against Clermont (1-0). Draws with PSG or Nice cannot be described as losses, but the 0-0 result at home against Metz deserves this description. Marseille couldn't even take advantage of a man advantage lasting more than 30 minutes against the outsiders and dropped valuable points at home before the national break.
