Betis vs Real Madrid: Preview, free tip and statistics
27.08.2021 12:00
Real Madrid has another difficult match on their way to the title. This time the Madrid team travels to Andalusia, where they will face Real Betis at the Benito Villamarina stadium.
Basic information, news and team form
Madrid's runners-up from last season would like to regain the top spot in the Spanish La Liga this season. However, after a great opening game, the royal club beat home side Alaves 1:4 after goals from Benzema, Nacho and substitute Vinicius. Real travelled to the Estadi Ciutat de València where they could only manage a 3-3 draw despite leading 0-1 after the first half after goals from born-again Welshman Gareth Bale. The only positive from that game that Real can take comfort in is the two-goal Brazilian Vinicius Junior, who is slowly starting to awaken his hidden goal-scoring potential. However, if Real are going to aspire to the La Liga title they need to win games like this.
Betis had a great season last season when they managed to collect 61 points from 38 games and secured a place in the European Cup, specifically the Europa League group stage. For the Spanish side from Seville, it was the best finish in La Liga since the memorable 2004-2005 season. However, the entry into this season did not go well for Manuel Pellegrini's charges. In the opening round, Betis was away in sunny Mallorca and managed to bring back only a point after a 1-1 draw. In the next round, Betis hosted Cadiz at home and the match again ended in a 1-1 draw. Betis will have to start winning if they want to attack the top of La Liga again.
