Saturday's Fortuna Liga line-up includes an attractive clash between Liberec and Olomouc. While Sigma is holding on to the top part of the table, Slovan is slowly making up for a bad start to the season.

Liberec had a disastrous start to the new season, which resulted in manager Pavel Hoftych’s departure at the end of August. His successor Luboš Kozel took over the team in an poor situation, as Slovan had only one point in six rounds and also dropped out of the domestic cup. However, the former manager of Dukla and Baník started to pick up results very quickly: after an initial draw with Pardubice (2:2) came valuable wins over Boleslav (2:1) and Jablonec (1:0). Liberec was quickly moving up the table, but the last two rounds slowed down this trend. First, Slovan fell 0:2 at home to Ostrava, and last weekend, as expected, they fell to Slavia 1:3 in Prague. The fact that Miroslav Stoch scored for the first time in the blue and white colours in this match can be at least a small consolation for Slovan. 

In Olomouc, on the other hand, they remember the start of the season very fondly. In the first five rounds, Sigma collected three wins and scored 16 goals, something that few expected from Václav Jílek's team. After the September break, the Hanaks added three draws in a row, but their gradually worsening performance caught up with them in the tenth round at Bohemians, where they lost 0:2. Last weekend, however, Sigma welcomed a struggling Karviná at home and did not let the chance for three points escape them. With a 2-0 victory, they retained sixth place in the table and thus their position in the title group.

 

 

Betdoin's view of the match 

The bookmakers consider Liberec to be the favourite, but Betdoin's algorithm doesn't see it so clearly. Under Kozel, Slovan is trying to play more openly than under his predecessor Hoftych, which could suit the attack-minded Sigma. The system expects a close game and found value in picks on Olomouc’s success. A win for the visitors without a draw can be bet at odds of around 2.20.

Liberec is still missing the suspended Tiehi, otherwise Luboš Kozel has a full squad at his disposal. Sigma doesn't have to deal with significant problems either, only Vaněček and Yunis are suffering from injuries.
