The Czech League has two games scheduled for Friday night, but the focus will be on the clash between Olomouc and Ostrava. Both teams are in excellent form and are keeping up with the top of the league, so the match should offer quality football. 

Basic information, news and team form

Olomouc manager Václav Jílek, who spent successful years at Sigma from 2015 to 2019, returned to the bench before the season, but even he may not have expected how well his renewed connection with the Hana club would work from the start. Sigma lost to Sparta 2:3 in an attractive match at the beginning of the league, but since then they have been on a five-game unbeaten streak. Goals are the common denominator in virtually all of Olomouc's games this season: in six matches, they have amassed a respectable 19:12 record and boast the league's best attack.

Ostrava also had a good start to the 21/22 season. Baník lost 0:1 to Jablonec in the first round, but then jumped on a winning streak, which was broken only at the end of August by Slavia. The 0:4 defeat in Eden brought the team back down to earth after several good performances, but Ostrava reacted to this miserable result in the best possible way. In the next round, they managed to win a tough match against Boleslav at home (1:0) and last weekend they recorded another win at Teplice, coming back from 0:1 to a 2:1 triumph. After seven rounds, Baník has 15 points, four more than Olomouc, which has a postponed match with Slavia in hand.
