Plzeň vs Slovácko: Preview, Free Tip & Prediction
07.08.2021 17:00
After a shameful loss in the British Isles, Plzeň take on the home side in the third round of the domestic top flight in Štruncové sady. The visitors from Uherské Hradiště are no longer playing European Cups and will thus have a slight advantage in the following duel.
Basic information, news and team form
Despite a lacklustre season last year, Plzeň still hopes to finish in the elite group for the European Cups, but their results do not reflect this. Despite a favourable draw in the Conference League, which gave Pilsen as an opponent the semi-professional club from the land of the dragon couldn't help Pilsen, and after a disastrous performance they lost 4-2 on their opponents' soil. It should be noted that if it wasn't for the opponent's lack of concentration and a favourable ruling by the referee in injury time, the match would not have ended 4:2.
Slovácko, on the other hand, also played in the conference league, but it was really only a conference league in quotation marks, as the draw in the first round awarded the Bulgarian team and the second-largest city in Thrace - Plovdiv. After an even first half on the opponent's ground, the home side Vitanov scored at the end of the second half and the match ended 1-0. In the home rematch Slovácko showed a completely different performance and won 1:0, however, Slovácko did not add a second goal and it came to a penalty shootout in which unfortunately Slovácko did not score 3 penalties in a row, and after such display it is hard to win.
Betdoin's view of the match
The bookmakers have written a classic goal line, which breaks at 2.5 goals. However, most underdog bets don't pay much in this match in terms of value. Despite the low odds, bets are more likely to be offered on a goal being scored, either over 1.5 or scoring in the first or second half. Scoring a goal by Slovácko can also be an interesting bet.
Absentees and estimated line-ups:
Given the failure in the British Isles, we have to count on at least a slight rotation in the Plzeň squad. However, Plzeň's squad is not as wide as Sparta's or Slávia's, although it has to be said, that Slávia, despite their width, still delay their league game until next week because of the Champions League game. The Pilsen squad will be depleted by injuries to Gabriel, Havel, Kalvach, Kaša, Kopic, Mike, Stanek and Čermák. Coach Michal Bílek will have a lot to think about and the expected lineup for this round is hard to predict.
Slovácko will only be missing a newly arrived striker from Baník Ostrava, Ondřej Šašinka, and a striker from Curacao, South America, serving a red card penalty, Rigino Cicilia.
Plzeň - estimated line-up:

Slovácko - estimated line-up
