The seventh round of the Czech league will offer a battle of the currently top two sides, with the leading Sparta taking on the second-placed Plzeň. Sparta have not won a league game in Pilsen for more than 10 years, but this time they will come as favourites.

Being second in the table with a 5-0-1 record doesn't look bad from Plzeň's point of view, but Viktoria is not in an ideal situation. At the end of August, they dropped out of the Conference League and thus lost the money associated with their participation in the group stage. That's why Ba Loua and Brabec left the club before the transfer deadline, while youngsters Matějka and Hlavatý went on loan as part of the roster cuts. After the failure in Europe, Plzeň must now concentrate on the league, but even there they suffered a setback last time out. Viktoria lost 0:1 to newcomer Hradec, which ended their five-match winning streak. 

Sparta, on the other hand, managed to complete their summer European mission and will play in the Europa League group stage, which they will enter next Thursday against Brøndby in Denmark. The priority for ACS now, of course, is the match in Plzeň. Sparta have not lost once in the opening six rounds and lead the table with 16 points, but the trip to Viktoria will be their first real test in this year's league season. Plzeň is always a tough opponent, even if they are not in the best form. Sparta's last league win at Doosan Arena dates back to August 2011, when Leonard Kweuke secured the visitors a 2-0 win.

Will Plzeň confirm their home invincibility against Sparta or will the visitors finally bring three points to Prague?
