Slavia vs Jablonec: Preview, Free tip & Prediction
20.11.2021 13:00
The final match of the 15th round of the Czech Fortuna League will be played on Sunday evening between Slavia and Jablonec. Both teams are participating in Europe this season, but there is a huge gap between them in the league table.
Basic information, news and team form
Slavia has been so dominant on the Czech scene in recent years that any unconvincing results immediately raise questions. So when at the end of September and the beginning of October the Red and Whites experienced a series of unsuccessful results, the word crisis started to appear in the media. The fact is that SKS suffered a long-unseen lapse in form: in five competitive matches, Jindřich Trpišovský's team notched up just one win and had to endure defeats to Sparta, Feyenoord and Maccabi Haifa. However, Slava put an end to the bad weeks with a 1-0 win over Olomouc at the end of October, and just a few days later they beat Plzen 2-0 at home in a crucial league game. The team from Eden continued to record wins with clean sheets before the international break in November as well: first, they managed a home Conference League match against Maccabi (1:0), and then they beat Pardubice 5:0 in the league. After a long time, Slavia again found themselves at the top of the league table.
While it was impossible to talk about a real crisis in the case of Slavia, Jablonec's form cannot be described without this word. The Green and Whites last won in the league in mid-September and are only 12th in the table, with a significant gap to the championship group. Instead of wins, Petr Rada's team has been picking up mostly draws: Jablonec has recorded seven draws in 14 rounds. The poor league form of FKJ is undoubtedly influenced by the participation in the Conference League, where Jablonec is performing decently and after four matches is even holding the second place in the group.
Betdoin's view of the match
Nothing but a win for the hosts is expected, with Slavia now back in form after a few subpar weeks. Even with plenty of absentees, the Prague side should be simply too much for the struggling visitors. Betdoin's algorithm however predicts that Jablonec could at least trouble the home defence, with one of the selected value bets coming from the both teams to score market.
Absentees and estimated line-ups
As usual, the home team will be missing several injured players: Takács, Kúdela, Bořil, Hovorka and Provod are out, while the starts of Schranz and Ševčík are still in question. The visitors will have to do without defender Zelený, who is suspended.
Slavia - estimated line-up:
Mandous - Bah, Kačaraba, Ousou, Oscar - Holeš, Hromada - Masopust, Stanciu, Olayinka - Kuchta
Jablonec - estimated line-up:
Hanuš - Holík, Kubista, Martinec, Krob - Považanec - Pleštil, Houska, Kratochvíl, Malínský - Čvančara
