On Sunday evening, the Czech Fortuna Liga will offer one of its main matches of the autumn season. Two candidates for the title, currently separated by four points in the table, will face each other in Eden. 

Basic information, news and team form

Slavia are not enjoying ideal weeks, but their position in the table does not suggest that. Third place, one point behind Sparta and four points behind Pilsen, is not something that should call for crisis plan activation in Eden. There is no doubt, however, that Slavia need to get a result on Sunday: a defeat and a loss of seven points to Pilsen would be a major blow. SKS are the favourites of the duel, but as already mentioned, their form is far from ideal. In Wednesday's match, they beat Olomouc 1:0 at home, but a few days earlier they unexpectedly lost points at České Budějovice, where they only drew 2:2. A win against Pilsen is thus close to a duty. 

Viktoria, on the other hand, are enjoying an unexpectedly good season. August's elimination from the Conference League has allowed Pilsen to concentrate exclusively on the domestic competition, which has borne fruit so far: 12 games, 11 wins, 1st place in the table. Michal Bílek's team recorded its only loss in the 6th round at Hradec Králové (0:1), otherwise it has been picking up points in threes and is currently on a streak of six league triumphs in a row. On Wednesday, however, Mladá Boleslav put the brakes on Pilsen's run, winning 2-0 in a cup match to knock FCVP out of the competition. 

 

 

Betdoin's view of the match 

Slavia finally kept a clean sheet against Olomouc on Wednesday after 12 games, but a tougher test awaits them against Plzeň. Viktoria have found their scoring form in recent weeks and know that if they want to succeed in Eden, it won't be without a goal. Betdoin's algorithm expects goals from the match and has identified BTS as one of the value bets. 

 

 

Absentees and estimated line-ups 

As usual, Slavia are struggling with a full injury list, with Bořil, Holeš, Kúdela and Tecl out of the game. A question mark hangs over Takács and also Olayinka, who scored the only goal in Wednesday's match against Olomouc. Plzeň will miss the injured N'Diaye, Pachlopnik and Míka.
