Czech Fortuna League’s 18th round will conclude with a Prague derby between Sparta and Bohemians. The visitors will travel to Letná as a clear underdog, but they can take courage from the January match in which they managed to beat Sparta 1:0. 

Basic information, news and team form

When this season is recapitulated in a few months, November will not be remembered fondly in Sparta. They lost three out of five games, missed their chance to qualify for the spring phase of the Europa League and were beaten 0:4 by Slovácko. At the end of the month, they won 2:1 at home against Liberec, but even that was not easy. Same goes for Sparta's trip to Karviná last weekend: the visitors outplayed their struggling opponents but only took the lead in the 60th minute thanks to a big mistake by the home goalkeeper. When the Reds added a second goal, they almost immediately conceded and had to worry about the 2:1 win until the end. Thursday's Europa League match against Brondby was more of a success: Sparta beat their Danish opponents 2-0 at home and secured at least a spring participation in the Conference League. 

Bohemians have not been shining on the league scene in recent weeks either. The Green and Whites have been alternating between solid and miserable performances lately: a loss in Liberec was followed by a valuable home win over České Budějovice, only to lose 0:6 in Plzeň the next round. Bohemians quickly recovered, beating Karviná 3:0 in a postponed round, but last weekend they faltered again. The Kangaroos were 0:2 down at half-time at home against Jablonec, and although they managed to slightly improve after the break, it only resulted in a consolation goal to make it 1:2.

Sparta will go into the last home game of 2021 as the clear favourite. The Betdoin algorithm also expects ACS to win, but the system predicts a close game with good potential for unders. The combination of cup fatigue, winter conditions and Bohemians' stubborn defence may make Sparta's path to the expected victory more difficult than expected.
