Sunday's French league schedule opens shortly after lunch with Angers and Nice. The visitors, who are third in the table, will be the slight favourites.

Angers can't complain about the opening part of the season either. Even though SCO were considered a relegation candidate by many experts, the team from the west of France has made a great start to the 21/22 season and after 11 rounds played they are in 6th place, just four points behind second-placed Lens. Although Angers have only managed to beat Metz (3-2) in their last five games, they have lost only one game, when they narrowly fell to PSG 1-2. Last weekend, SCO came very close to winning at Saint-Étienne, where they led 2-0 after an hour of play, but had to settle for a point after a 2-2 draw.

Nice, on the other hand, were expected to fight for the top positions before the start of the season and Christophe Galtier's team has confirmed it so far. OGC are in 3rd place in the table and if it wasn't for a disciplinary penalty in the form of a point deduction, the position would have been one better. Nice's ambitions have undergone a harsh test in the last two rounds and it must be said that Les Aiglons have passed it with honour: firstly, in Sunday's match they turned around an unfavourable score against Lyon and won 3:2, then on Wednesday's they drew 1:1 with Marseille. Nice has to regret especially the recent away losses to Lorient and Troyes, where OGC fell 0:1.
