Bordeaux vs PSG: Preview, Free tip & Prediction
05.11.2021 15:00
PSG dominate Ligue 1 so far and are on course to bring the title back to Paris. On Saturday night, the league leaders will take on Bordeaux, who are focused on a much more humble goal of avoiding relegation.
Basic information, news and team form
Bordeaux had a very dramatic summer, during which they managed to get relegated and promoted administratively, changed their manager and brought in more than ten new players. If Girondins fans were hoping for a slightly quieter season, the early rounds quickly robbed them of that hope. Bordeaux had taken just two points from their opening five games, putting them among the relegation candidates. Since around mid-September, however, FCGB's form has picked up and Vladimir Petkovic's team has lost only once in their last seven matches (0-3 at Monaco). Les Girondins are managing to score points, but are struggling with getting wins. After 12 rounds, they have only two, the last of which came last weekend at home against Reims. The visitors were still two goals up in the 70th minute, but Bordeaux pulled off a spectacular turnaround to win 3-2.
PSG also celebrated a win in the last round, but it wasn't easy either. The Parisians were 0-1 down at home to Lille after the first half and their performance certainly did not suggest that they wanted to replace their opponents on the league throne. After the break, however, the home side came out firing and turned it around to a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Marquinhos and Di Maria. Last-minute goals are almost a tradition for PSG this season: of their ten league triumphs, four have come thanks to goals in the last five minutes of the game. There was also a late goal when PSG faced Leipzig in Wednesday's Champions League match, but this time Les Parisiens were the unlucky side. Szoboszlai converted a penalty in additional time to earn Leipzig a 2-2 draw.
Betdoin's view of the match
PSG will go to Bordeaux as the clear favourites for the game, so anything other than a win would be a surprise. The Betdoin algorithm also expects a triumph for the visitors, but due to the low odds on their success, the system has this time headed to the corner kick market in search of value. One of the selected picks is a bet on more than 9.5 corners, with odds around 1.80.
Absentees and estimated line-ups
The home team will have most of their squad available, with only the striker Hwang uncertain to start. Kimpembe, Verratti and Ramos will not help the visitors due to injuries, and Lionel Messi, who is not fully fit, is also expected to miss the game.
Bordeaux - estimated line-up:
Costil - Kwateng, Koscielny, Gregersen - Pembele, Onana, Otávio, Mangas - Adli - Briand, Elis
PSG - estimated line-up:
Navas - Hakimi, Marquinhos, Diallo, Mendes - Herrera, Gueye, Wijnaldum - Di Maria, Mbappé, Neymar
