PSG vs Monaco: Preview, Free tip & Prediction
11.12.2021 14:00
Sunday night in Ligue 1 will belong to PSG vs Monaco. The Parisians are leading the table with a comfortable advantage, but in the last two rounds they have recorded only two points. They will be looking to get back on the winning track at home, but they will face a tough opponent.
Basic information, news and team form
Ligue 1 will soon be exactly halfway through and PSG's lead at the top of the table is currently at a comfortable 11 points. But not everything is rosy in Paris: only 2nd place in the Champions League group behind Manchester City cannot be considered a success, nor were some of the league performances convincing, although PSG managed to win most of their matches. Last weekend Les Parisiens struggled against Lens away, where they were trailing for most of the game and only got a point for a 1-1 draw in stoppage time through Wijnaldum. It was the second league match without a win for PSG, as Pochettino's team drew 0-0 at home against Nice the round before.
Monaco are only 7th in the table, but in recent weeks they have managed to stabilize their fluctuating form. Les Monégasques are currently on a run of five games without a loss, taking full points in the last two rounds. First, Niko Kovac's charges made a difficult trip to Angers, where they won 3-1, and last weekend they cruised past Metz with a 4:0 win. ASM are slowly moving up the table, but the gap to second-placed Rennes is still five points. Like PSG, Monaco will play European football in the spring. In its case, however, it will be the Europa League, in which ASM won a tough group with Real Sociedad, Sturm Graz and PSV.
Betdoin's view of the match
Monaco managed to beat PSG in both league games last season, but they will certainly not be favourites in Paris. Although the home team's form hasn't been convincing lately, neither is ASM as strong as last season. Betdoin's algorithm predicts a narrow win for PSG, but has found several value bets on at least partial success for the visitors. One of them is over 3.5 corners at odds of around 1.60.
Absentees and estimated line-ups
PSG will miss Sergio Ramos as usual, Neymar and Julian Draxler will not play as well. Monaco will not be helped by the suspended striker Volland, while Diatta and Fabregas are injured.
PSG - estimated line-up:
Donnarumma - Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Bernat - Herrera, Gueye, Verratti - Di Maria, Messi, Mbappé
Monaco - estimated line-up:
Nubel - Sidibé, Maripán, Disasi, Henrique - Martins, Fofana, Tchouameni, Diop - Ben Yedder, Boadu
