Monaco are experiencing a horrible start to the season, picking up just one point in the opening three rounds of Ligue 1 and dropping out of the Champions League this week. Sunday's trip to Troyes is a must win game for the Monégasques. 

Basic information, news and team form

Troyes topped Ligue 2 last year and have strengthened considerably by signing over ten new players before entering Ligue 1. The latest acquisition is experienced centre-back and world champion Adil Rami, who joined from Portuguese side Boavista. He and his teammates will be looking for their first win of the season against Monaco, as Troyes have recorded just one point so far. In the opening round at home, Estac put in a great performance against PSG, but it was not enough for more than a 1:2 defeat. A round later came a 0:2 defeat at Clermont and last weekend a 1:1 draw at Strasbourg, where Troyes failed to hold on to a narrow lead. 

While one point from three games is not a surprise for Troyes, it is for Monaco. Especially since ASM had a smooth start to the season in the 3rd Champions League qualification round against Sparta, and there was no indication that the club would have a weak season. However, that's exactly what happened. After the opening league draw with Nantes (1-1) came losses to Lorient (0-1) and Lens (0-2). In addition, Monaco also failed to make it through the Champions League play-off against Shakhtar: after a 0:1 home loss, ASM put in an excellent performance in the return leg and came close to qualifying, but in the end, due to an unlucky own goal in extra time, they drew 2:2 and will only play in the Europa League.

Troyes away is not an easy game, especially with Monaco current form. Betdoin algorithm shares this view, finding value in several bets on the home team. Troyes over 0,5 goals is one of those, with odds set around the 1.50 mark. Estac were not afraid to play offensively against PSG and they will certainly want to repeat that against struggling Monaco.

 

 

Absentees and estimated line-ups 

Adil Rami only joined Troyes this week and his start against Monaco is unlikely. Kabore will also miss the game due to suspension, while the status of Dingome and Kone is uncertain. Golovin will definitely not play for Monaco because of his red card last time, while winger Diatta has injury problems. ASM played 120 minutes on Wednesday against Shakhtar, so we can expect a slightly rotated line-up.
