Barcelona vs Granada: Preview, free tip and statistics
19.09.2021 12:00
On Monday night, we will have a match of the fifth round of La Liga between Barcelona and Granada at the Camp Nou stadium.
Basic information, news and team form
Barcelona, like many other teams, started the Champions League group stage in the week and Barcelona did not enter it well at all. In their first game, Ronald Koeman's charges welcomed German giants Bayern Munich to their stadium, a side they don't have the best memories of, having lost 2-8 in their last game together. This match was in a similar vein, with the home side Barcelona failing to register a shot on target, but the overall scoreline ended mercifully 0:3 for them. At least in the league, Barcelona are doing well so far. From the opening three matches, it managed to win against Getafe and Real Sociedad and draw once on the ground of Basque Bilbao.
Granada is not playing any European cups this year and therefore has the opportunity to rest longer and prepare more for this match. Nazaríes can also take comfort from the fact that on their last visit to Camp Nou they were one of the few teams to beat Barcelona at home 1-2, with Lionel Messi scoring for the home side in the first half and Granada managing to turn the game in their favour in the second half after goals from Machis and Molina. Granada have finished ninth and seventh in the last two seasons and a similar position is expected for this season, but if Roberto Moreno's squad are going to fulfil their pre-season predictions, they will have to start winning. In their opening 4 games, they have recorded only 2 points after draws against Valencia and Villareal and they have not won a single point in their games against Betis and Vallecano, leaving them in 17th place.
Betdoin's view of the match
A Barcelona home win is available at odds of 1.31, a draw can be backed at odds of 5.80 and a home win is available at odds of 10.30. The goal line is set at Over 3 in this match. Our clever Betodin algorithm sees value mainly in the underdog bets. A bet on yellow cards or underdog corners also seems to be an interesting option.
Absence and estimated line-ups
The home team's squad is quite large. Jordi Alba, Martin Braithwaite, Sergio Aguero, Ousmane Dembele, Pedri and Ansu Fati are all injured and so Ronald Koeman will not have them available for this game. Samuel Umtiti missed the last training session so his start is also questionable. Lost son Coutinho could return to the lineup and Ronald Araujo could take his place alongside Gerard Pique.
As for Granada, the only reported injured player is Colombian Neyder Lozano, who is still struggling with his leg injury, otherwise Roberto Moreno's team should be complete.
Barcelona - estimated line-up:
Ter Stegen - Dest, Araujo, Pique, Balde - Roberto, Busquets, Frankie de Jong - Coutinho - Luuk de Jong, Depay
Granada - estimated line-up:
Maximiano - Duarte, Sanchez, Abram - Arias, Gonalons, Montoro, Monchu, Neva - Suarez, Machis
Free tip for Barcelona vs Granada - under 3,5 goals (1,67)
