Levante vs Real Madrid: Preview, Free Tip & Prediction
22.08.2021 09:00
After comfortably beating Alaves in the season's opener last weekend, Real Madrid are headed for another away game. This time they will face Levante, who started the year with a 1:1 draw against Cádiz.
Basic information, news and team form
Levante had a quiet summer with no major changes in the squad. The only thing worth mentioning is the arrival of experienced striker Roberto Soldado from Granada. He made his debut in the first round at Cádiz, but had to be substituted in the 51st minute due to injury. This is however not the only reason why Levante will not remember the first game of the season in a good way: they led from the 39th minute thanks to a goal by Morales and for a long time it looked like they are nearing a deserved win, but in the 7th minute of stoppage time Espino equalised for the home side to make it 1-1.
Real Madrid enjoyed a good start to the new season, scoring in the second half against Alaves to win 4-1. Benzema put his name on the scoresheet twice, while Nacho and Vinicius added one goal each. Manager Carlo Ancelotti made a very successful debut, as did Real's only summer signing, Austrian defender David Alaba. He was included in the starting line-up, as was Gareth Bale, who returned to Madrid after an unsuccessful loan spell at Tottenham. Only a few expect him to be able to build on his performances from his opening seasons at the club though.
Betdoin's view of the match
Real Madrid scored four goals against Alaves in the first round, but according to the Betdoin algorithm prediction it won't be that easy against Levante. The system found value mostly in under bets, such as under 3.5 goals in the match. The home side can be very hard to beat in a three-at-the-back formation and it could easily be that the match offers a tight battle rather than another shootout.
Absentees and estimated line-ups
In addition to the injured Soldado, the home team will also miss Postigo, Blesa and Gómez. On Real's side, Marcelo, Kroos and Carvajal are uncertain while the injured Ceballos will definitely be unavailable. Given the good performance in the first round, it is likely that Ancelotti will stick with the same line-up.
Levante - estimated line-up:
Fernández - Coke, Pier, Duarte - Son, Campana, Melero, Clerc - Frutos, Morales - Martí
Real Madrid - estimated line-up:
Courtois - Vázquez, Nacho, Militao, Alaba - Valverde, Modrič, Casemiro - Bale, Benzema, Hazard
