Valencia vs Real Madrid: Preview, Free tip & Prediction
18.09.2021 15:00
After beating Inter Milano in the Champions League on Wednesday, Real Madrid face another tough game away from home. On Sunday evening, Los Blancos will be tested by Valencia, who are yet to be beaten this season.
Basic information, news and team form
Valencia is having a great start to the season, being second in the table after four weeks played. The first round against Getafe started disastrously for Los murciélagos, who lost Guillamon to a sending off in the third minute. However, even with ten men, Valencia managed to win 1-0 and recorded their first points of the season. A 1-1 draw at Granada and two clear victories followed: 3-0 at home against Alaves and 4-1 at Osasuna. Manager José Bordalás, who joined from rivals Getafe in the summer, is enjoying a good start to the campaign.
After four rounds, Real Madrid boasts the same record as Valencia, with three wins and a draw. While their opponent on Sunday rely on a quality defence and have only conceded two goals so far, Real practice a much more offensive approach. Last weekend, for example, they dismantled Celta Vigo 5-2 at home, and they have already posted results of 4-1 and 3-3. With 13 goals scored, Los Blancos clearly have the best attack in LaLiga, while the six goals conceded are rather below average. On Wednesday, however, Real managed to keep a clean sheet in probably the most important match so far: against Inter Milano, Los Blancos were under pressure most of the time, but Rodrygo secured them a huge 1:0 win with a late goal.
Betdoin's view of the match
Which team will extend its unbeaten streak? The bookmakers are favouring Real quite heavily, with odds of a Real victory around 2.00. The Betdoin algorithm's prediction also gives the visitors slightly better chances, but the system found value in the odds for the home side, who are underestimated way too much. Valencia have a very good defence that could give Real problems, while offensive threats like Guedes will test the visitors' shaky backline so far. A draw-no-bet pick for Valencia is priced at very interesting odds.
Absentees and estimated line-ups
Valencia will have to do without the injured Cheryshev and Piccini, otherwise Bordalas has a full squad at his disposal. Kroos, Ceballos, Marcelo and Bale will be missing for Real, while the start of Ferland Mendy is uncertain.
Valencia - estimated line-up:
Mamardashvili - Correia, Paulista, Alderete, Gaya - Soler, Guillamon, Wass, Foulquier - Guedes, Gómez
Real Madrid - estimated line-up:
Courtois - Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Nacho - Valverde, Modrič, Casemiro - Hazard, Benzema, Vinicius
